Ibrahim's Tale

In my early years at the pre-school "Ankanbadi Siksha," a seemingly simple math problem became a pivotal moment in my life. Despite the odds, I managed to solve several problems that others found challenging, earning myself a chocolate prize. This small victory ignited a passion for math and set me on a journey of academic growth that continues to this day. Studying in a government school meant limited access to resources. To overcome this, I had to get creative with my learning. After finishing my classes, I would often teach younger students, helping them with their studies. This not only strengthened my understanding of various subjects but also fostered a deep bond with education and the joy of teaching.

My first significant academic setback came when I failed to gain admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya after class 5. This failure, however, only strengthened my resolve. It inspired me to strive harder for academic success. As I shared my knowledge with my classmates, I learned to adapt my teaching strategies to meet their needs, which further refined my understanding and skills. Transitioning from being the top student in a village school to feeling outmatched in a town school was a daunting experience. This change highlighted the significant disparities in education between rural and urban areas. However, it also motivated me to bridge this gap through continuous learning and perseverance.

My journey at VIT was marked by another challenge: language. Although I was fluent in Assamese, my struggle with English made it difficult to apply to clubs. I felt a constant fear of rejection. But then, I discovered VITeach. This group recognized my writing and note-taking skills, giving me a platform to develop my abilities further. Through hard work and teamwork, I found my true calling in teaching. Leading VITeach allowed me to fulfill my childhood dream of providing quality education. Each interaction with aspirin and enthusiastic students reminded me of my own journey. It drove me to ensure that no child faces the educational barriers I once had to overcome with great difficulty. Serving as the head of the School Team at VITeach was an utmost honor and a testament to the power of perseverance and passion.
