Mahir’s Tale

If there’s one thing that VITeach has taught me, it's how our little efforts leave a lasting impact on others. Many students lack the resources to learn or do not have access to a supportive learning environment. I’ve always wanted to create such an environment and educate these students, and then I found a way through Viteach. Joining Viteach was a remarkable experience. I came across Viteach during COVID-19 and was excited by the prospect of imparting knowledge, so I eagerly joined. However, we found ourselves confined to online activities. Despite this, we continued to create presentations and worksheets for the kids to learn.

Fortunately, the college reopened, and we finally had our school visits. I mostly worked with grade 1 and 2 kids. One unforgettable experience was our stationery drive, where we visited schools and connected with students in person. I vividly remember these two kids. One girl was super comfortable around me and always hung out with me. She even used to run up and stand next to me during photo sessions. There was also a boy who faced challenges with speech but demonstrated a similar ease around me. We connected instantly and had a great time throughout.

Most of the kids learned more from engaging with us than from the teaching itself, which I would say was a very fun experience for all of us. VITeach was more than just a club; it was a transformative experience and heartwarming experience that highlighted the profound impact of compassionate teaching. The lessons I learned and the connections I made through Viteach have profoundly shaped my personal approach to learning.
